Plot Summary:
Disillusioned with the grinding cynicism of Canadian federal politics, speechwriter Daniel Addison finally has enough when he catches his girlfriend going down on his politician boss. Unfortunately, the party's chief political wonk strongarms Daniel into first finding a candidate and running a election campaign in a hopeless riding before he can resign. Daniel finally finds a candidate in Angus McLintock, an eccentric engineering professor who agrees on the conditions that Daniel teaches his English for Engineers course and he himself does no campaigning. With their dummy campaign in place, everything starts to go wrong as these schemers find themselves in a race which their unorthodox deeds and goals start to energize it. Now, Daniel, inspired by the idealism by the supporters, especially the lovely daughter of one veteran volunteer, finds he is a fight to win despite his best efforts.

The Governor & J.J. is a television series that ran from September 1969 to January 1971 on CBS in the United States and in Canada, where it ran on CBC Television. Selected episodes were rerun by CBS during the summer of 1972. It was produced by Talent Associates and CBS Productions. CBS Television Distribution now owns the distribution rights to the program. The series starred Dan Dailey and Julie Sommars. It focused on William Drinkwater, a governor in an unnamed Midwestern state, who, in lieu of his late wife, had a "first lady" in his twenty-something year-old daughter, Jennifer Jo. J.J., as Jennifer Jo was called, had a regular job as an assistant curator at a zoo in the capital city and had a love for animals. She was bright and opinionated and could also debate political issues with her father as well as anyone else. Despite their difference in opinions, William really loved J.J., and she proved herself to be charming and efficient in her duties being "first lady" for her widowered father. J.J. often gained support and advice from Maggie McLeod, the governor's secretary; George Callison, the Governor's press secretary, and from Sara Andrews, the housekeeper at the Governor's Mansion, who appeared in twenty-three episodes.

D.C. Follies is a syndicated sitcom which aired from 1987–1989 and was set in a Washington, D.C. bar, where bartender Fred Willard would welcome puppet caricatures of that day's politicians and celebrities. The humor tended to be on the satirical side, often taking potshots at politicians and the political process. Although Willard was the only live actor appearing regularly, each episode brought a celebrity guest into the bar, such as Martin Mull, Robin Leach, Bob Uecker, and Betty White. In one episode, Robert Englund showed up as his Freddie Kruger character, and in a special Christmas episode an un-billed actor played Santa Claus. That's My Bush! is an American comedy television series that aired on Comedy Central from April 4 to May 23, 2001. Created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, best known for also creating South Park, the series centers on the fictitious personal life of President George W. Bush, as played by Timothy Bottoms. [...] This politically astute criticism is embedded in so much hysterical humor that the series never seems weighty.".
